Third Panorama
Oct 12, 2024
The Third Panorama refers to those fragments of land—margins, abandoned sites, neglected spaces, and transitional zones—that remain untouched or unclaimed by direct human intervention. Unlike cultivated fields or managed parks, these areas exist without a predefined purpose, left to the spontaneous processes of nature. Gilles Clément argues that such places are of immense value: they are privileged zones of receptivity to biodiversity and serve as vital reservoirs for the planet’s genetic heritage.
